There has been plenty of talk about young Diaspora making waves all over the globe proudly flying the flag for Nigeria. What makes this all even more exciting is the ever growing surge of young entrepreneurs that are coming through particularly within the fashion sector.
We are talking about the movers and shakers that are extremely passionate, keen and confident in bringing their success back home. We caught up with British born Nigerian designer Jennifer Onah, as she recently returned to Lagos to introduce both herself and her luxury fashion house, to the Nigeria.
FERONA is a British Couture house that is based in London but we had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer Onah, Creative Director behind the fashion house, on home soil as FERONA held it’s very first meet and greet at Prive Atelier, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
With plans to launch officially in Nigeria, towards the end of the year, FERONA is recognised for producing relevant evening, occasion, cocktail and bridal couture. Each and every individual piece is created with the highest level of craftsmanship, using traditional haute couture hand embroidery techniques by a team of some of the very best couture specialists, trained to the highest level in the creation of haute couture.
The event which took place on Thursday 7th of April, was very well attended by fashionistas and editors of Nigeria’s most well known fashion publications, bloggers and others within the media industry. There were highly crafted samples on show, some pieces created specially just for the event and it was extra special for all those invited as they got first peek of these exquisite pieces.
We are really looking forward to the official FERONA launch later this year and we predict the fashion house as the next one to watch!
